Latin name:  Panthera pardus

History:  A female black leopard, she was born in 1995. A breeding facility in New Hampshire could not handle her so they brought her down to us about 12 years ago. A common misconception is that the leopard is a panther. The only panther is the Florida panther. Leopards are either orange & spotted or black, however the black leopard has spots, too, which can be seen in the sunlight.
